A Step Forward For Net Neutrality

FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler has proposed new rules for protecting the open internet.

I know this isn't the normal type of news article posted on Archetype Gaming or maybe that a lot of us are used to reading in general, but I thought it was important. The internet is something we use every day and we should know what's going on with it.

For most internet loving people, today has been a good day. The FCC has announced that they will be working to reclassify not only broadband but mobile broadband as well as a utility under Title II of the Communications Act.

The big take aways from this are that ISPs will no longer be able be able to block legal content, throttle lawful internet traffic or provide paid prioritization. Check out this article from the Verge for more information.

Make sure you get informed so you know what's happening (if you live in the US). Every one of us here uses the internet and the government is shaping how we will be using it going forward.
